Welcome to Onsted Elementary School
Onsted Elementary School is located in Onsted, Michigan. We are in the S.E. corner of Michigan between Adrian and Jackson. We are only about 6 miles from the world famous Michigan International Speedway. The Onsted community is a mixture of rich farmland and numerous lakes.
The elementary school hosts about 550 students preschool through fifth grade. We offer a full day kindergarten program, full day developmental kindergarten program and full day preschool opportunities (Great Start Readiness Program and Wildcat Tuition Preschool).
Our teachers are all highly qualified as well as all of our paraprofessional staff. Our Student Success Center includes a full time guidance counselor, dean of students, and nurse to support our students. We work with our local intermediate school district (LISD) to provide support services such as speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, social emotional, and school social work services.

Only allow your child to stay home if they are too sick to come. Fever, vomiting, pink eye, or severe viral infections are cause to keep them home. Complaints of headache or stomach ache can be signs of anxiety, and should be communicated to the guidance office. If your child has specific health concerns, let us know.
Have a plan, as well as a backup plan, to get your child to school on time, every day. Too often disruptions in the morning, or transportation issues, cause children to miss an entire day of school.
Plan family vacations on weekends or around school breaks. A one week vacation causes each student to miss approximately 35 hours of instruction.
If possible, schedule doctor and dentist appointments after school hours.
Use Infinite Campus to keep track of your child’s attendance. Chronic absenteeism means just missing two days per month, which, over the course of the school year, can equate to approximately 126 hours of learning.
Communicate with us. Many issues can be resolved by utilizing the appropriate resources and staff members. Remember, we want your children here. We are here to help.
Attend today, achieve tomorrow. #schooleveryday
